Central States Fair Finalizes Grandstand Line-up

RAPID CITY, S.D.(5/3/10) -- The Central States Fair is pleased to announce that the final acts of the Black Hills Power Concert Series line-up have been confirmed.

Tuesday, August 24 you will be on the edge of you seats all night with three great acts: 32 Below, Western Underground and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

32 Below will open the Tuesday, August 24 concerts with multiple songs that are in rotation on radio stations in major markets across the US. The group performs 150-200 shows a year.

Western Underground, headlined by SD native Dustin Evans, has put together a show that carries on the musical spirit of their mentor, friend, and honors a great American icon Chris LeDoux.

The evening's finale will come from a band with a career that spans five decades. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has gone from humble beginnings as a hippie jug-band to pioneers of country rock.

This night promises to be outstanding!

Wednesday, August 25 grandstand acts will be Gary Allan and Bomshel. Gary Allan introduced his debut album in 1996 and has steadily built a career with songs like Watching Airplanes, Best I Ever Had and now songs from his new album, Get Off on the Pain.

Bomshel will be opening and you can always count on this duo to embrace the extremes and - like their name implies - deliver the unexpected. These two acts will perform their music that has soul and real meaning.

These two nights finish off 4 great nights of the Black Hills Power Concert Series which starts off Sunday, Aug 22 with Clay Walker and The Band Perry. It continues Monday, Aug 23 with Uncle Kracker and the Little River Band.

“We are extremely excited about booking all these entertainers!” says Fair Manager Ron Jeffries.  “We feel we have contracted some of the best entertainment out there.”

Tickets will again include packages for admission to all grandstand concerts, motor events, and rodeos; but individual concert tickets will also be available. On-line ticket sales are scheduled to begin early July.

The Central States Fair will take place August 20-29 in Rapid City.
